Re: “Rep. Tim Scott waiting tables at California Dreaming

Again, Tim IGNORES Georgetown, its workers and its port. Honeywell is getting a good return on their donation.

Re: “Michelin's big tires will bring big money and 500 jobs to South Carolina

When companies import, the quality is thrown out the window. Trust me. For someone who has worked 11 years in a steel mill and has seen foreign steel break under tensile tests, I know it's about the profits. Seen the prices on tires?

When we shipped our steel to them before, we actually had to put the steel coils in plastic bags when loading them on trucks. We had to physically wrap them. Then, they wanted cardboard paper between them. And the trucker had to tarp the load. They were very demanding, but we treated their steel like gold - as we do for all our customers.

I find it hard to believe we can't service them and save the cost in freight for them.

To sdr35hw: What an insane comment to make, especially when we've been making money month after month and satisfying all of our customers. Figures. Let's dwindle the argument to unions - a very small percent of the worker make-up in our state. Again, we've made their wire before. We could do it again. But this type of comment proves business people are in for themselves, not the whole.

Re: “Michelin's big tires will bring big money and 500 jobs to South Carolina

That's great. There's a problem, though. Michelin uses foreign made steel. How fitting to have a company expand so much in our state and NOT use a major wire rod producer in OUR STATE. ArcelorMittal - Georgetown could make the wire for Michelin - it has before under different owners - and would keep more jobs inside S.C. How about it, Nikki?
