Jail Break 4

When: Sat., Nov. 17, 4-11 p.m. 2012
Price: $15/adv and students, $20/door
Do you remember that 2005 movie Jail Party? Neither do we. But the artists and musicians over at the Old City Jail want to throw one you’ll never forget. Jail Break Four is an all-encompassing creative festival featuring music, dance, comedy, arts, and crafts. “The goal of Jail Break is to celebrate all that is going on in the local art community,” says event organizer Andrew Walker. The music will kick off with the old South sounds of Southwood Duo, followed by Dangermuffin and Rachel Kate. Then, headliner Crowfield will play one of its last concerts with original member Micah Nichols. Comedians Evan Berke, Dusty Slay, and the musical improv duo Introducing Fish Taco, among other local funny people, will throw jokes that range from silly one-liners to biting satire. As you wander the spooky halls of the jail, watch out for theatrical performances and surprise dance installations by the Charleston Dance Alliance. You might even find yourself in the middle of some pop-up choreography.
