JAC Jazz Series at the North Charleston Arts Festival

When: May 6-9, 8 p.m. 2015
North Chuck’s Arts Festival has something for everyone, but we’re really looking forward to the Jazz Artists of Charleston’s jazz series. While it’s being held in the American LaFrance Fire Museum, the idea of the shows is to transform the space into the more intimate setting of a jazz club. Rock out to Steve Berry & The Jazz Factory on Wed. May 6 when you can look forward to bluesy jazz with a Latin influence and Berry’s smooth sounds on both the trumpet and fluglehorn, a trumpet-like instrument that has a “darker” or “fatter” sound than its peer. Mark Sterbank will be rocking out on the saxophone on Thurs. May 7, playing original music from his recently released CD, Dayspring. For a delightful duo check out Leah Suarez and Gerald Gregory — a.k.a. Suarez & Gregory — on Fri. May 8 when Suarez’s vocals meet Gregory’s piano music.
