Re: “Let's not let Charleston become Myrtle Beach

Last year my wife and I enjoy a visit to you fine city and found the people very friendly even though I rode a "motorcycle". I am 63 years old, retired as a Ballaloin Chief from the fire service and have an income of over 80 K. I have ridden my motorcycle over 300,000 miles in 44 states, Mexico and Canada and have met many wonderful people. My wife and I attend church every week and donate both time and money to many charities each year.

I know that people like you write articles to sale newspapers but I never see anyone write about the good that "bikers" do. I guess you have to be one sided in order to keep your job. It is a shame that you do not see the thousands of hours or dollars the bikers give back each year.

I would ask what have you done today to help someone. As for me, I have a planning meeting for a ride around Lake Erie to raise funds for a swimming pool at a new Hole In The Wall Gang camp for ill children being build in Ohio. Maybe you have heard of these camps as there is one North Carolina (Victory Junction which was founded by Kyle and Patty Petty) that does a motorcycle ride each year for the camp.

Maybe you would like to make a dontaion for my ride? If so visit www.flyinghorsefarms.org. or www.flyinghorseride.com.

Not all bikers are bad just as not all news reporters are one side.
