Re: “Tree killing newsies should keep the coupons

Unfortunately receiving these newspaper mailers from the P&C is not something you can "opt out" of. Why? Because they are not databasing addresses, and sending to you individually.

These money-saver mailers are delivered by USPS in what is called a "saturation route." There is absolutely no discrimination as to whom receives them; the cost to mail is phenomenally cheap. Why is that? Because the mail sorters take a plus-four route (that is the four digit code following your zip) and every single little bundle -- for every single deliverable address -- is automatically packaged with these mailers. It's brainless and an automated process; thus instead of costing 40-cents to mail such as first class, it is more like 14-cents per "drop" as they call each deliverable address.

For you whiners, take a peak through it once in awhile, you might actually find something that will save you money. And if you absolutely hate receiving them: please be sure and recycle it!
