For your consideration. More than a decade ago, Piccolo officials picked up on the fact that its Spoleto audience was demanding more laughs on their plate. So they expanded the smorgasbord to include some hearty eats for your funny bone — namely, the improv professionals at Theatre 99 and their cadre of homegrown talent.

Funny girls, boys, and aging rock legends. Each night will have a different line-up, including favorites like the word wizards of Big Dicktionary, the laugh-worthy litter of Cats Hugging Cats, the hot chicks of Hot Pants, and more. Also, look out for rock improv act Doppelganger.

Old dogs, and some new tricks. Not only will these two shows collect some of Charleston's top comedic talents, but former faves like John Brennan will be coming back to share in the fun. For the marathon and a few other shows, the Theatre 99 crew is squatting in its old stomping grounds at the American Theater, which was the troupe's temporary abode before finding its home on Meeting Street.
