Then it's a good thing none of you work in the education system today. Further complicating the issue is that districts will waive excessive absences in a quest to keep graduation rates always climbing. Imagine how much more poorly a frequently absent student will do on a standardized test. Now imagine that student knows all he/she has to do is sit in a chair after school for a few hours to make up more than 30 absences in just one subject. Now put your mortgage and kid's college tuition in that kid's hand and you begin, just begin to know what we deal with. We've been reduced to nothing. Responsible for it all. Accountable for all. But not in charge of a damn bit of it.
