Re: “State legislature to look at guns, weed, ethics, sexting, taxes, and mopeds

Since its against the law for liquorcycles (mopeds) to travel in excess of 35mph, their use should be restricted to streets/roads w/speed limit @ 35mph or less.

Re: “A brief history of the history you missed in high school

Thanks for mentioning Howard Zinn: his works should also be required reading.

Re: “At Nehemiah Action, pastors demand policy change with confrontational techniques

It seems that any public official could've filled out an answer sheet ("no" or "yes") in advance (or instead) of the meeting & that there responses could've been widely distributed (newspapers, on-line, public buildings, etc.) in the surrounding area. I would like to know what were the questions and answers.

Re: “Board approves full Montessori program at Hursey Elementary

"Students from the traditional program in the Hursey attendance zone will likely be re-assigned to nearby schools including North Charleston Elementary School, which fared worse than Hursey on its latest state report card." -- from the paper.

& what about the high school for the montessori program?

& how can any school be "partial" magnet? Is that like being partially pregnant?

North Charleston will never turn into a vibrant, thriving residential community until/unless Charleston County decided to spend the money on good, safe schools. Its been well over 20 years since the Navy shut down the base & that property is falling into ruin and still undeveloped. A cruise ship terminal, the urban sprawl that's grown up in the approach pattern for the air port runway approach, a business/residential mix like the Nexton project in Summerville, a new campus for the C of C: ANYTHING would be better than what's happened.

Re: “Board approves full Montessori program at Hursey Elementary

Not enough info in the article. I'm interested in knowing the per pupil expenditure/school in Charleston County.
WHY are any students being reassigned to other, nearby schools?
What high school do to these students attend when finish at Hursey?
Are there any Montessori high schools?
