Comfortably uncomfortable. Human Fireworks is Charleston's only comedy group performing the long-form improv style known as The Harold. The Harold, and other styles of long-form improv, allow actors more time to develop believable characters and organic story-lines. If you want some insight into their show, let's just say every one begins with this warning: "It's about to get weird."

One of a kind. Combining abstract movement and sound with inspired scene work, the six-person team based out of Theatre 99 creates a unique, extended experience that stretches the boundaries of an improv show. "The show begins with a sound and motion opening, where we use sound and physical movement based on audience suggestions to inspire the overall piece," says group member Tommy Hutchins. "Sound and motion is a little weird, super organic, and awesome."

Theatre 99 invades Piccolo. Cast members of Human Fireworks include Charleston locals Hutchins, Brian DeCosta, Betsy Harper, Andy Livengood, Amber Mann, and Greg Tavares. Human Fireworks will be sharing the stage with two other troupes from Theatre 99 that evening, Little Miss Codependent and Full Love Throttle.
