Re: “Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time series lives on thanks to his wife Harriet McDougal and writer Brandon Sanderson.

I started the WoT series with an ARC of The Eye of the World (which I still have) months before it ever hit the shelves. From the very beginning I was a fan of the world that Robert/Jim created.

With great sorrow I learned of Jim's illness and eventual death. I mourned with my fellow WoT followers and wondered if we would ever see the Last Battle the way Jim wanted it to be.

When it was announced that Brandon Sanderson would take the helm and try to give us the Last Battle I bought his books to get the feel of the author but it was the visit to his website that sealed the deal for me. An author who was a fan of the work. Just not a "yeah, I read 'em" but an honest-to-goodness I've-read-the-books-multiple-times fan like a lot of us.

The Gathering Storm was all that a WoT fan could have wanted and more. Mr. Sanderson delivered in keeping the characters in voice (Mat seemed off to me, but I heard that's how he was supposed to be after his marriage to Tuon) and moving the plot along towards it's epic conclusion.

I eagerly look forward to the last 2 WoT books as well as anything Brandon Sanderson writes for us.

Thank you, Harriet, for understanding that we, the fans, needed closure too.
