Home Team BBQ and Ole Smoky Moonshine Hosts a Full Moonshine Party at Sullivan’s Island

When: Thu., June 12, 4:30 p.m. 2014
Phone: (843) 883-3131
Price: $5
Come soak up the shine of the moon, under the full moon. Ole Smoky Moonshine out of Tennessee, also known as “The Holler,” is America’s most visited moonshine distillery, and they are partnering up with Fiery Ron’s Home Team BBQ to tempt and test Charleston’s moonshine tolerance under June 12’s full moon. Ole Smoky’s Moonshine Cherry will be the star of the drink specials; it’ll be served in Mason jars and cost around $6. Home Team BBQ is also creating a new frozen cocktail drink using maraschinos cherries and their juice — think of them as Shirley Temples for adults. Home Team will also offer a special sandwich called Moons Over My Home Team, which will feature house-cured and smoked ham and bacon, American and pepper jack cheese, and a fried egg, all on a sourdough bun. “Nothing goes together better than barbecue and moonshine in the sweet summer time. This Full Moonshine Party is a great time to bring two American delicacies together underneath a full moon where the night sky is bright and the Charleston locals show the tourists how to get down in the pale moon light,” says Leigha Weatherfood, a Home Team representative. Charleston funk rock band Shonuff will perform.
