Hazelnut Hang w/ Sister Hazel

When: Fri., June 4 2010
Price: $25
The Windjammer hosts the fifth annual Hazelnut Hang on the IOP this weekend. It’s a three-day celebration featuring veteran Gainesville, Fla.-based alt-rock band Sister Hazel, who celebrated the official release of a new digital EP titled Threeve last week. Bassist Jett Beres, lead singer/guitarist Ken Block, drummer Mark Trojanowski, and guitarists Drew Copeland and Ryan Newell recorded three songs for the new collection: “All the Love,” “My Heart,” and “Can’t Fight It.” A full-length studio album is due in October. The band first came to prominence after the smash success of their 1996 major label debut Somewhere More Familiar. The Haze perform full sets three nights in a row — Fri. June 4 through Sun. June 6 — with door prizes, “hang competitions,” deck jams, guest performers, and “Nutcase” VIP packages. —T. Ballard Lesemann
