Market vendors and their produce will be highlighted in a series of cooking demonstrations.The demonstrations, hosted by John LaVerne, owner of Culinary Tours of Charleston and Bull Dog Tours, include Steve Dowdney of Rockland Plantation demonstrating canning tricks and tips for preserving the fall harvest (9 a.m.); Chef Sean Brock of McCrady’s will team up with Rita Bachmann of Rita’s Roots for a farm to table demonstration (10 a.m.); Alluette Jones-Smalls, owner of Alluette’s Café and Helen and Joseph Fields, Johns Island farmers, will prepare a traditional southern dish (11 a.m.); and Tressy Magwood Mellichamp and Lily Herndon Weaks will prepare a shrimp dish with their catch-of-the-day (noon).
