Re: “Are cruise ships harmless fun or an environmental scourge?

I find comments by people like "And if elected" to be amusing. Have you ever been on a cruise ship? Granted everyone is allowed their opinion, but it is an unfair suggestion to assume because there was an illness outbreak that it was the ships fault. The unfortunate fact is that SC had a higher outbreak of the virus that plagued the Mercury for a handful of sail dates. The unfortunate fact is that some people are unaware they are even infected with the virus until it's to late and yes, this virus is VERY contagious.
There's even a website for the virus.. http://www.noroblog.com/ (I added this so you can see it's not just cruise ships with this problem)
I went on a cruise several years back (A Celebrity ship actually .. the Century) and even with no illness outbreaks.. they are always in a state of cleaning. I remember waking up one night to a hissing sound.. I looked out the peephole and saw a crew member walking down the hallway, cleaning every nook and cranny. I'm sure the crew does all it can to make the ships as clean as possible. It's up to us to be ultra aware in confined areas like cruise ships, airplanes, work spaces to always wash our hands or use hand sanitizers before eating.
I didn't mean to sound like a Purell placement ad... Lol.. I just wanted to make the point that you shouldn't be so narrow minded about things until you've had a chance to experience them.

Re: “Smoky sounding DJs make drive a drag

Sorry to say but "XM" is just local radio on a much bigger signal. It does not mean the talent is any better and I'd rather find out what's happening right here in Charleston rather then NYC or LA.
