Re: “Hug your friends and hug a journalist

I have a propensity to take the long, broad view and not get into the weeds with trivia. Media blather has gotten to the point where the federal government, aided by television media, is contemplating taking action against "false news". This is just a prelude to taking away your first amendment rights. The mainstream media can not compete with the "irregular" media, of which this thread is just one element. Therefore the MSM wants a law to regulate/outlaw fake news. Have a good day, fellas.

Re: “Hug your friends and hug a journalist

Frankly, most journalists, except you, of course, are held in VERY LOW regard by the general public. Journalists and media employees are going to have to work extremely hard to overcome the poor reputations they have earned for themselves in recent years. Most journalists are regarded as liberal hacks who are unable to earn a living in another line of work.

Re: “The Agenda: Could Romney spoil Haley's chances?; Roof hearing remains closed; Clyburn will run for leadership post

Jim Clyburn ought to retire now that both he and the Democrat Party have been discredited.

Do you think that station will start early in playing Kwanzaa music?

Re: “How well do South Carolina city councils reflect their local populations?

Actually, there are many cities in the south where the number of black and Hispanic city council members exceeds the number of white city council members. The same is true of local school boards and county boards of supervisors. Excessive minority representation on city councils does not necessarily mean there is good governance; the same is true of local school boards. Examples: Washington DC . . Baltimore . . Atlanta . . New Orleans . . Detroit . .
