Has it really already been two years? It seems like just yesterday that the Glass Onion opened up in West Ashley, bringing its spin to traditional Southern comfort dishes. To celebrate the milestone, the restaurant is having a four-course tasting dinner. The meal will be fancier than a normal day at the Onion, featuring table service, candlelight, and jazz from Ben Wells and Sam Sfirri. With choices like crispy lamb sweetbread with pea tendril salad, local clam chowder, and fresh Atlantic fish with roasted vegetables and aioli, the menu ensures that this won’t be the last anniversary. It will also showcase the improved wine list, according to co-owner Sarah O’Kelley, which exclusively has green wines; the sustainable, organic, or biodynamic bottles even come from small, local distributors. O’Kelley says the restaurant is very excited to hit the two-year mark, and they want to showcase the day by doing what they do best. “All of our philosophies are falling in to place,” O’Kelley says. —Susan Cohen
