Girls Rock Benefit Auction

When: Thu., May 19, 6-9 p.m. 2011
Price: $25/donation
Charleston’s very first Girls Rock Camp will go down at Ashley Hall from July 18 to the 23, giving girls ages 9-16 the chance to play loud music, be creative, and get empowered. But they need some help, so they’re hosting a benefit auction to raise money not only to pay for the camp, but to help pay for scholarships for campers. Guests will get to bid on artwork from local artists, tickets to this week’s Neko Case show at the Music Farm, an Ibanez guitar, gift certificates to local restaurants, music lessons, a hat from Magar Hat Works, and other rock-related stuff. Live music will be provided by the V-Tones and Sarah Bandy and the Local Honeys. If you can’t make it out, you can still help out the camp through their Kickstarter page; they have until June 13 to raise $3,000.
