Re: “Sullivan's singing ban is latest effort to chase off visitors

@and if elected: Frankly, Sullivan's island is a public beach and has received millions of government dollars due to that fact over the years. Besides ingnoring the fact that it would be impossible to make Sullivan's a gated community, lets suspend reality for a second and say you were going to be able to gate the island.

When I'm elected, I'd ensure the county bills you for the brand new bridge the public coffers just invested in. I'd also ensure tolls were erected on the Mt. Pleasant and Isle of Palms sides to recoup other public sunk costs. Also, if our firefighters, police, and trash services do not have access to your beach at all times, please keep your tax dollars for those items and we'll be happy to let you negotiate with the County or surrounding municipalities to secure new contracts for those services.

Sullivan's will continue to attract visitors. Either get involved in the town affairs to help manage the tourists and growth, or move to Kiawah and stop complaining.

Re: “Sullivan's singing ban is latest effort to chase off visitors

@M. Kenney Charleston is the friendliest city in America. What never ceases to amaze me is how many people do not possess the mental capacity or simply the will to understand how the City of Charleston is separate from the Town of Mt. Pleasant, that the Town of Mt. Pleasant and the City of Charleston are separate from the Town of Sullivan's Island, and the Town of Isle of Palms, that the City of North Charleston, the Town of James Island and the Town of Folly Beach are separate from all of these. My point is that all of these municipalities pass laws and ordinances relatively independent of one another. If you are going to poke fun or complain, at least direct it to the to correct town/city/people.
