With leadership like this, how can respectful negotiations take place? Translation: "We offered to make them destitute and they said no. Jerks." It is difficult to comprehend a mindset that would think an 84% pay cut is a legitimate offer, and more difficult to understand the apparent contempt for the rejection of that offer. Nobody would accept a deal like what has been offered to the CSO musicians. Nobody.

Good faith bargaining looks very different from what is going on at the CSO. The more I read, the more evident the Board's contempt for its musicians becomes. What's baffling is that people with so little respect for the profession end up running such organizations as this.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to directly slap the musicians of the symphony directly in the face? This seems very inefficient.
