We're a little more than a week out from Thanksgiving and holiday parties, markets, and concerts are in full swing. Local station 102.5 has started playing classic Christmas tunes, and the 12 days of Christmas banners are hung along King Street. Be sure to check out all these merry and bright happenings this week — they're all free to attend, and when you do spend money, feel good knowing it's local, local, local.

Monday

If you aren't much of a runner, cool fall evenings might be the perfect time to start. Meet up at Terrace Theater at 6:30 p.m. for the the James Island Group Run.

From 5 to 8 p.m., celebrate the launch of Upland Brewing Company in the Charleston market at the Brew Cellar.

This free bodyweight and cardio workout is open to all levels — head to Hampton Park at 5:30 p.m.

Channel your inner child at the Rec Room's Goldfish race starting at 8 p.m. 

Tuesday

Funk/soul band West End Blend plays a free show at the Pour House starting at 8 p.m.

Break out your disco duds or find the perfect gear at the Alley's Studio 300 vintage market from 5 to 8 p.m. Shop goods from Runaround Sue Vintage and Tuff Stuff Vintage.

Head to SkinPro Studio for their holiday party from 4 to 7 p.m. Enjoy food, drinks, music, cake pops, goodie bags, and more.

Charleston Museum chief curator Grahame Long presents a lecture starting at 7 p.m. at the Holy Cross Community Center in Mt. Pleasant about Charleston's dueling legacy.

Wednesday

Get a head start on your shopping at the Element Carolina Bay Holiday Sip-N-Shop from 7 to 9 p.m. — check out goods from The Patterned Lily, Park & Madison, Kaypea Jewelry, and more.

College of Charleston hosts the second annual Stars Gender Pageant at the Sottile Theatre starting at 7 p.m.

It's Puppies & Pints happy hour at Bay Street Biergarten from 4 to 7 p.m.; pet some adorable pooches and save money on specialty cocktails, beer, and bites.

Spice up your holiday wardrobe for free at Charmed Beauty, Gifts, and Lifestyle's Holiday Sip and Swap from 5 to 7 p.m.

Thursday

It's Moosegrass Thursday with Dallas Baker and Friends from 6 to 9 p.m.

Riverside Designers hosts a holiday pop up shop starting at noon — shop jewelry, art, candles, bedding, and more.

Enjoy Summerville's third Thursday at The Fabric and Craft shop and meet pups from the H.F. Help No Kill Rescue from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. 

Friday

PoHo Family Funk Revue plays a free show on the deck starting at 6:30 p.m.

The North Charleston Convention Center's holiday market opens today at 10 a.m. and runs through 5 p.m. Sun. the 19.

Jahde Leather Atelier hosts a photography show from 5 to 8 p.m. featuring the work of Leigh-Ann Beverly.

Tap into the holiday spirit at the Simons Center Recital Hall with College of Charleston's AcaBelles fall concert from 6 to 7 p.m.

Saturday

From 2 to 6 p.m. at 2010 Wappoo Drive, shop local handcrafted goods at the New Moon Market. Marcus Amaker will provide tunes for shoppers and Roti Rolls will serve up tasty bites.

Hang out at Tattooed Moose on Johns Island and enjoy some music under the oaks starting at 3 p.m. with your duck fat fries.

Celebrate four years of good bear at Freehouse Brewery's anniversary party from noon to 8 p.m.

Sunday

Shop artisan goods, sip Bloodys, and jam to the Motown Throwdown at the Pour House Sunday Brunch farmers market from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
