It’s going to be a packed week, Charleston. Here are some events to keep you cool and most of all, feeling free. Look out for our Bridge Run roundup later this week (we promise you don't have to put on tennis shoes to enjoy these events, unless of course, you want to).

Monday

Attend the ribbon cutting ceremony of the Multicultural Center Art Pot, with a live performance, games, giveaways, and a DJ.

Check out Drink Til It’s Funny stand up comedy night at The Sparrow to try out your jokes, or just laugh along from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m.


Check out The Southern’s exhibits After Midnight in the Dynasty and Fatal Links, artworks inspired by women, America, and pop culture.

Tuesday

Head to the Game Night party, celebrating the success of Cast Web Design’s Social Media Game night, with light food, drinks, and music.

Tuesday means trivia, so make sure to get your smartest friends together and head to a cool place like Home Team BBQ, Gene’s Haufbrau, or The Tin Roof.

The Charleston County Library will host a lecture on Women’s Rights in South Carolina in honor of Women’s History Month.

Wednesday


Exhibit Slightly Askew is being displayed at the City Gallery, where you can see the different work and perspectives of artists Cabell Heyward and Rebecca Davenport. 


Take the kids over to Brittlebank Park to gaze at the sky and talk to some local astronomers about the stars.

Bay Street Biergarten will be hosting the party-jam tunes of Midnight City starting at 7 p.m.

Thursday

Gaze at some pretty gowns from the One Love Collective at the One Love Design House, and seize the opportunity to talk to their creators and designers.


Test your bingo skills to win prizes and enjoy drink and food specials at Cumberland Smokehouse from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.


Ever felt like being part of a live audience? Now you can, with TV show The Journey with Aisha filming in front of a live studio audience that could include you.


Friday

The Halsey Institute is holding its Young Contemporaries reception, with food, drinks, and artwork by the newest talent the College has to offer.

Check out the artwork at the Atrium Art Gallery, with photography and paintings from local and regional artists.

Head over to Palmetto Brewing Co. for their Loading Dock music series, with various music acts, food trucks, and a family friendly environment.


Lagunita’s Tap Room & Beer Sanctuary is always a funky time, this week with soul music starting at 4:20 p.m.

Saturday


Dog & Horse Fine Art Gallery exhibits dog paintings and horse paintings from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Today marks the 40 year anniversary of the Cooper River Bridge Run, so go cheer runners on from the sidelines, and make sure to head to Palmetto Brewing Co.’s Bridge Run Brew Bash for food, dancing, and lots of beer.


Mosey on over to the Johns Island Farmers Market, where you can get fresh artisan food likes bread, cheeses, honey, and more, and also check out various vendors and entertain the kids with fun activities.


Go over to The Green Room on Folly Rd. for a DJ dance party, with dance music starting at 9pm.

Sunday


It’s the sixth annual Honey & Bee Expo, where you can buy local honey and related treats while listening to guest speakers, enjoying music from the V-Tones, and eating honey inspired food.

Check out the Thrifters & Drifters Spring Market over at the Royal American, your hub for the latest in vintage fashion.


Feel like dancing? Good, because you can go to Prohibition at 6:30 p.m. and swing dance to some tunes performed by the V-Tones.
