Events for the week of March 6-12

Free events, here we come. We got together some of the coolest events that are going down this week, so feel free to check them out.

Monday

It’s the 11th annual African American Fiber Art Exhibition, where fiber artists can exhibit their original designs, including wearable art, dolls, and quilts.

It’s free to be funny over at The Sparrow, with stand up comedy from amateurs and pros.

Head over to the Atrium Art Gallery to catch a glimpse of some photography, abstract paintings, and contemporary works from local artists.

Tuesday

It’s time for trivia at Biergarten, Home Team BBQ, and The Tin Roof, all starting at 8 p.m.

Creekside Pizza Co. is hosting Name the Music night, a family-friendly party where you can guess songs from various decades and win prizes.

Paintings of pups and horses can be found over at the Dog & Horse Fine Art Gallery, a fun and free way to spend your Tuesday.

Wednesday

Catch the National Outdoor Sculpture Competition and Exhibition at the North Charleston Riverfront Park, where contestant’s art pieces are being displayed.

Swing dancing is always free over at Prohibition, with music from the V-Tones.

Check out some party jams by Midnight City at Biergarten, starting at 7 p.m.

Thursday

M. Dumas & Sons is hosting a free pre-fashion week cocktail party, where there will be bourbon, bites, and tailoring consultations.

It’s the Charleston Repeats children’s consignment event, where you can grab a variety of items for your infant to teenager, with great steals along the way.

It’s poetry night at Elliotborough Mini Bar, where you can bring your poetry (or just your favorite poem) and read it aloud.

Go to the Voodoo Tiki Bar in West Ashley for bingo, drink specials, surprises, and a sweet DJ.

Friday

Fabulon will be hosting We the People, an artistic event with works of art trying to offer solutions to racism, and elicit empathy and understanding through art.

Southern Select is holding a pop-up shop at the Cigar Factory, where there will be children’s entertainment and a selection of baby, child, and lifestyle items for purchase.

You can get free potluck and free yoga with Namaste Folly over at the community center. Bring a mat.

Listen to the music of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra Woodwind Quintet, who will be performing a free public concert as part of the Village Concert Series.

Saturday

The Brew Cellar is hosting Books and Beer, where you can get a beer and grab a book from Itinerant Literate pop-up bookstore to relax your Saturday away.

Barre Evolution of Mt. Pleasant will be celebrating their one year anniversary, and will be hosting free classes all day long, along with prizes and future discounts.

It’s Live Well Fest over in Mt. Pleasant, with yoga, presentations, shopping, live music, and healthy food, all to promote living a healthy and holistic lifestyle.

It’s the 14th annual St. Paddy’s Day block party and parade, with live music, kid’s activities, a parade, booths, and a block party.

Eclectic Cafe & Vinyl will be hosting the singer-songwriting music of Avi Jacob, free starting at 8 p.m.

Sunday

Second Sunday is back! Head over to a closed off King Street to explore the shops and maybe even dine outside, or stroll down the street and pet some dogs.

Low Tide Brewing of Johns Island is celebrating their one year anniversary, where there will be a mechanical bull, dunk tank, photo booth, drinks and food for purchase, and more.

Head over to Holy Cow Yoga Center to get your zen on, with a meditation group starting at 7:45 a.m.
