Genealogist, Wevonneda Minis, will present a program designed to help those researching African-American ancestors. Following the Civil War, the Freedmen’s Bureau assisted newly freed people in negotiating labor contracts with plantation owners. These labor contracts can provide answers to genealogy questions – sometimes even the names of former slave owners.
