Re: “Beachheads and the War on Facts

Just to return to reality, the Clintons started manipulating scientific fact when they refused to fund any research that produced results they disagreed with, like smoking. If you don't play the game, you don't get paid.
30 years later, those who know that the scientific process was corrupted by the political goals of the liberals are now called "deniers". Well, the facts don't change because they don't fit reality.
Let's return to REALLY un-biased research and throw out the politically directed pseudo - science of the last 30 years.

Re: “Charleston can lead the country by getting its story straight

Oh, please! Worry about the future, not the past. If the "Thugs" would quit attacking each other AND each other, the Police wouldn't go to work everyday worried that they won't come home. Of course, they develop a "Do it to them before they b do it to you." I would also not that very often it is Black Cops shooting Blacks. How is that racism?

On Root, the boy is as a insane as any Nazi nut job. After almost 80 years the Germans haven't been able to stamp out that philosophy. You see, it is about power sized by those who think they have none. Racism is just the excuse.

And I thought "Cs" and "LRRPs" were bad!
Oh, well, there will always be Ham and Lima Beans. If you don't know what that is, ask your father or grandfather.

Re: “Today's police departments look more and more like occupying armies

This is a very real Problem...
Yet there does need to be an available resource to deal with heavily armed Criminals. But every City Police and Couty Sheriff's Department does not need a SWAT Team. For small Communities, these resources should only be available from the State Police or the National Guard. It used to be that when the Governor called out the Guard, everybody took a step back, because that meant the invocation of Martial Law, where you either complied with the no riot, no looting or get shot rule.
Martial Law meant the suspension of Civil Liberties and the Constitution in order to de-escalate a situation to where regular law enforcement can protect the public.
It was serious business!
Now, every time some idiot holes up inside his house, here come SWAT to kick in the door. What happened to just waiting him out? Or using Tear gas? Why do we need armored police to invade his home? Hostage situation? Sure. but every time?
The military philosophy is Overwhelming Force. That should be a Last resort for 99% of the Police and Sheriff Departments in this country.
