Re: “Changes to S.C. film incentive policies worry many

Just a quick look at the film industry on local business. If a film brings in a 100 people for 90 days, averaging $50 per night, that is $450,000 for just hotel rooms. Not to mention at least 900 meals bought in restaurants. Gas, tools, personal shopping, medical, taxies, lumber to build the sets, paint, equipment rentals, ETC. The local set builders, set dressers, scenics, grips, drivers, production assistance, ETC. We live here year round. Just look at the numbers of films shot in South Carolina in 2007 to see how a good tax incentive works.
