If the emails were sent using one of the state’s email accounts, then they should be released. The U.S. Supreme has ruled that an employee who uses his employer’s email system to send personal emails has no defensible expectation of privacy. In other words, the employer may see the emails. The same should apply here, Nikki’s ultimate employer in this case being the public.

More troubling, however, is today’s report by the AP that on July 15th Haley had a meeting with 50 business leaders, but the press was barred. What’s she saying to them that the public isn’t allowed to hear?
