Five Guys matches up to $35K for Special Olympics

Eat burgers and fries for a good cause

We've been eagerly awaiting the opening of the new Five Guys Burgers and Fries on King Street. Though the restaurant isn't open quite yet, owner Sean Moore is recognizing the newest addition by issuing a statewide challenge to support the Special Olympics.

Moore, who is a member of the Special Olympics Board of Directors, has pledged to match contributions dollar for dollar up to $35,000. For those who wish to donate, be sure to get your gift in by July 4 to have it matched.

The donations go towards a great cause which enables children and adults with intellectual disabilities to train for and compete in the Special Olympics.

So far over $5,500 has been donated, but that still leaves plenty of room for giving. Those who wish to contribute can send their donation to Special Olympics SC, Attn: Five Guys, 1276 Assembly St., Columbia, SC 29201 or give online by visiting http://www.firstgiving.com/soscfiveguyschallenge.
