Fanfarlo w/ Robert Francis

When: Sun., March 28 2010
Price: Free
Yelpy, clean-cut, British pop-rock five-piece Fanfarlo might be young, but they’re on an rapid ascension that looks almost too exciting to be true. Led by Swedish-born songwriter Simon Balthazar, the London-based group recently kicked of a North American tour in support of a debut album titled Reservoir. They made their U.S. network television debut on the Late Show with David Letterman, hit last week’s SXSW in Austin, and earned tons of praise in hipster music zines. In February, the band released an exclusive six-song iTunes EP. The New York Times called them “quasi-symphonic indie rock in the vein of Arcade Fire.” They share the stage with L.A.-based singer/songwriter Robert Francis, who’s out behind a new one titled Before Nightfall. The event is free and presented by The Bridge at 105.5. Music starts at 9 p.m. —T. Ballard Lesemann
