Event TWO: ArtWorks of Art

When: Fri., Nov. 11, 6 p.m. 2011
Price: Free
Tivoli Studios & Gardens, an industrial space on Upper King Street, is a sanctuary for artists to develop their projects and ideas. As resident artist Andrew Smock explains, the studio is always changing, with artists regularly joining or leaving it. They are currently at full capacity, and to showcase the current batch of artists, which Smock thinks is the best yet, they will open their doors for an all-night event. Artists, including Angel Caban, David Sollars, Lara Neece, and Mason Greenwald, will be showing off their creativity during what Smock considers to be a long-overdue open house. Aiming for a crowd of all ages, the studio will try to separate the night into two “acts.” From 6-10 p.m., there will be performance art (fire dancers), and artists will display their work for sale while trying to introduce newcomers to the vision and ideas of Tivoli. From 10-ish on, there will be dancing and live music courtesy of Vijazzle and DJ Jeff ET. “As far as when this ends,” Smock says, “that is up to whomever shows up.” The entire event is free of charge, and attendees are welcome to BYOB.
