Re: “Charleston Nine families get $1.8M from Sofa Super Store

Well said "Word". These firefighters were advised that there were employees trapped inside the business. These firefighters were doing their jobs. They were risking their lives in an attempt to save others. They were not "big kids who wanted to splash in puddles and then sue when their shoes and pant legs got wet". I am appalled that someone would make remarks such as yours, especially knowing how 9 brave men lost their lives. Tell me, would you still make such an asinine remark had any of the lost firefighters been a part of your family? These men, in addition to firefighters, were also at least one of the following: Veterans, sons, brothers, husbands, fathers, grandfathers, cousins, nephews, friends, and trustworthy pillars of the community. No. They were not "big kids who wanted to splash in puddles and then sue when their shoes and pants legs got wet". They were firefighters and died answering the call that people were in danger, and a massive fire was growing out of control by the minute. The business owner was found at fault and many policies and procedures were put into place as a result. Any lawsuits that were filed and eventually settled were not enough. Check the facts before showing your ignorance.
