Re: “Panhandlers meet angry resistance in West Ashley

I would not /do not normally write comments. This issue is one that hits home. At my worst moments, when I was sure that all was lost, I have been helped by strangers whose names I will never know. The majority of these individuals have been African-American , and not much better off than I. Perhaps it was pity: what has happened that is so terrible that some white woman, single-mom, from SOB, with two children is worse off than me? No one ever questioned - they simply did what they could - even without being asked. I will never know their names; I strive to pay it forward every day. I give when I am able. We are all in this together, and none of us is getting out of here alive ( or taking anything with us - except our souls; our "selves.") We are judged according to how we treat the "least among us." ..and this is how it should be. If these "panhandlers" - suffering human beings - offend you; please ignore them, and pass on the other side. We Samaritans will stop. We will do what we can. We are our brothers' keeper. Much love to all .
