Re: “True tales about healthcare abroad

SiCKO has it more correct for both Canada and the USA. While oncology may excel in Vancouver private surgery in BC and elswhere is increasing. Canadians travel to the US for care due to wait lines as well as quality outcomes. The payment for health care in Canada is where US policy makers are struggling to get to. The reality of that achievment can be readily seen in the budget of each province in Canada. Online review will show that the annual spending of each province's tax dollars continue to increase on one budget item, health, and now reach 50% with no visible plans to manage this fiscal and health crisis that threatens the economy. The comparison for the US is simple, how would taxpayers and legislators react to State or Federal budgets where 50% was going to health care? This reality is fracturing the quality and sustainability of "public" health care in Canada. The 2010 Olympics will conclude a great success, but the economic and health crisis will continue if outcomes rather than funding are not prioritized.
