Doppelgänger!

Lords of Rawk: Doppelgänger climbs the ladder of rock glory (again)

Doppelgänger!
Thurs. Jan. 15, 9:30 p.m.
$8
Charleston Ballet Theatre

Lee Lewis and Jason Cooper perform a more rock 'n' roll show than what you'd normally get at the Comedy Festival. Their popular act, called Doppelgänger!, follows Clive Nielsen (Lewis, pictured right) and Johnny Dregg (Cooper), as they meander though a smoke-filled, eardrum-damaged, heavy metal-soaked misadventure. The band has hit hard times and needs to improvise its way back to rock glory. That won't come easily, because times have changed and no one remembers who they are. Think Bret and Jemaine of Flight of the Conchords meet Jack Black and Kyle Gass of Tenacious D with a gulpy dose of Nigel Tufnel and David St. Hubbins of This Is Spinal Tap.
