The reason the Village Tavern closed is simple. Daniel Drew ran it into the ground.

Instead of being concerned with things like routine maintenance, making sure the beer taps were working (there was a solid 4 month stretch when there was no draft beer), ordering kitchen supplies, or taking an interest in continuing the Tavern's reputation for booking up and coming acts, Daniel was more interested in getting black out drunk at the bar and pissing off some of his best employees forcing them to leave.

Ironically during the last 3-4 months when Drew wasn't around there were signs the Tavern was turning the corner, thanks largely to the efforts of Ms Smoak. I guess it was just too little too late.

It's a shame the bar fell into the hands of such an incompetent loser. The loyal patrons of the Tavern deserved far better.
