Design 2012 and Beyond: Trends Shaping the Architecture, Hospitality, Lighting, and Interiors Industries

When: Thu., Sept. 27, 6-9:30 p.m. 2012
Price: $55/FGI members, $75/non-members
Charlestonians don’t need to be reminded that the Holy City’s fashion, design, and architecture scenes are among the most vibrant in the Southeast. Now, Fashion Group International (FGI), a nonprofit committed to bolstering the fashion and design industries worldwide, is kicking things up a notch with the Design 2012 and Beyond symposium. In a continuation of their efforts to explore what lies ahead for Charleston’s design industry, FGI is bringing together four of the biggest names in the business — Clodagh, Brian Orter, Victor Ermoli, and Michael Adams — for an evening of cocktails and open discussion. Each guest will present their current projects before the floor is open for discussion of topics including sustainability, new business models and technologies, licensing issues, and other trends shaping the industries. “Simply put, there has never been an event quite like this in Charleston,” says Rosanna Krekel, regional director of Fashion Group International. “Shoppers, students, business owners, designers, and everyone else in between will all walk away from the event with a newfound appreciation for the breadth of opportunity and unlocked potential within Charleston’s fashion and design industry.”
