Re: “Street vendors are a part of the black community

I remember the vegetable trucks that used to drive through black neighborhoods years ago offering fresh fruits and vegetables grown on local farms. And I've heard stories from some older Charlestonians about the black Mosquito Fleet fishermen who rowed their boats into the Cooper River decades ago to catch fish and then sell them on downtown streets upon their return. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Hey my grandparents use to tell stories of they are gone. May you kindly pitch perhaps in a future article about how these people helped the community such as the health of eating local. And what has happen to a least the descendants of the vegetable trucks and the black mosquito fleet fisherman if you perhaps find time. I think it would be great to see where these black people stand from those who put up such efforts. Great article.
