Re: “Why are white men turning on women?

It doesn't help when the bottom 20% of difficult, dirty, and dangerous jobs are done by men! Women are just not applying to those jobs, many of which can be higher paying (for good reason, do you want to work 16 hours on 8 off for two weeks straight ladies!) As for industries in Engineering....if more women pursued those degrees (and with more than 50% of college degrees going to women what are they studying). I'm sure women choosing degrees (like Library Sciences and "Gender" Studies) with low ROI really kills the overall addition to women's earnings as well Men tend to work 50+ hours a week (http://qz.com/149428/mens-overtime-hours-are-keeping-the-gender-pay-gap-alive/) which in addition causes men to earn more (only because less women are willing to work that OT). Another point you miss is recognizing which gender control the most spending power. Women control 80% of the spending power (wait if they make less how are they the majority in spending?)
