Brothers Ben and Nick D’Allesandro have only been throwing pies at their funky Elliotborough pizzeria since 2006, but from their following on Bogard Street, you’d think that they’ve been around forever. D’Al’s has one of the city’s best lunch deals hidden on the back of its menu: a small two-topping ’za or a small one-topping personal pie and a generous side salad that will set you back around $7 and change. At least once a week, someone on the CP staff dials up D’Al’s for a few of our favorites, usually the Chauncinator (margherita minus tomatoes, plus double-pepperoni) and the Get Gnarly, a killer white pizza with mozz, blue cheese, basil, and chicken roasted in balsamic vinegar.
