Re: “What to do when the population grows and housing options shrink

I moved to the area 21 years ago and enjoy living here but Charleston is such a pretentious town I may cash out and move back to Columbia, not because of the growth but for the financial windfall. I rarely go downtown anymore and when I do it is just to see shows. Tourist do not travel here to meet locals, what a silly idea. The people here are not special.

Re: “Yonder Field's Bowman Bound festival has been canceled

Bowman is halfway between Columbia & Charleston on i-26 and an easy ride from Florence or Hilton Head on I-95 sounds perfect. The only problem is the festival is in BOWMAN!! A weak ass line up with camping as your only alternative for sleeping in a location which is really just 2 gas stations at 2 exits is a hard sell even if the show was worth seeing. Riverfront park in north Charleston would have been a better location for the line up but if a festival is gonna pull people to the sticks they need to bring some heat. I suspect ticket sales were the real reason the festival was cancelled.

Re: “The Charleston Lie

I am gonna to have to call bullshit on the pedicab incidents, you made this up as a platform to espouse your own bias. I have taken pedicab rides and never had such a conversation. I also used to pick my daughter up from work on King Street and never heard conversations like that among the pedicab drivers as I literally eaves dropped on their conversations as I waited in my car with the windows down.
