Re: “Stumbling Blocks, Stepping Stones

Remus was my first basketball coach. His son Mario and I went to middle school together and were close friends. Remus was a tremendous role model and treated me like one of his own family. Certainly after reading this story one wouldn't blame him from having ill feelings towards whites after going through that type of experience. I am very thankful for having known him, his wife and his two sons during my formative years. The College of Charleston, the low country, and South Carolina in general should be proud of his achievements both on and off of the court. He is a tremendous role model for all races.
