Let's get spiritual. The CSO Spiritual Ensemble gives an encore performance of its sold-out February show, An Ode to Fisk Jubilee. The 35-member vocal group will be performing African-American spiritual songs with internationally renowned special guests Roberta Laws and Daniel Washington.

Choral performance gone fisk-y. The program is a tribute to the Fisk University Jubilee Singers, a group that once toured the world singing and spreading the word about African-American spiritual songs. The former slaves entertained a variety of audiences, including the Queen of England. Maybe William and Kate should have asked the Jubilee Singers to sing at their wedding last month instead of that stuffy boys' choir. They surely would have brought down the cathedral.

Special appearances by Mariah Carey and the ghost of Elvis. Just kidding. But these songs are said to have laid the foundation for almost every type of American music we hear today, especially R&B and early rock n'roll. Points to whoever can put a mashup on YouTube of the performance mixed with "Always Be My Baby."
