Coy Taylor

When: Fri., Feb. 3 2012
Price: Free
Kentucky native Coy Taylor might catch a buzz on Firefly Vodka while visiting the Lowcountry. The Nashville-based country singer/songwriter will be in McClellanville this weekend for a recording session at the new Firefly Records studio, owned by Firefly exec Scott Newitt. He also plays a free show at Art’s Bar on Friday night. Taylor Coy started playing music in Cincinnati, gigging mostly around the local honky-tonks of Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. He recently made the move to Nashville. He leans toward a rockin’ style of modern country and delivers his tunes with a touch of the grittiness of Drive-By Truckers and Jamey Johnson. “Fall for You” is his latest single on Twang City Records. This weekend marks the kick-off of a Southeastern tour sponsored by Firefly Vodka.
