When: Fri., Oct. 12, 7 p.m. and Sat., Oct. 13, 7 p.m. 2012
Phone: (843) 722-8638
Price: $15
Rather than taking on those sophisticated, South of Broad ghosts this Halloween, head north on the peninsula to Magnolia Cemetery for some spooky Confederate action. On the Confederate Ghost Walk, you’ll see more than 200 re-enactors present living history scenes amidst the graves of the dead. The spooky part is that these scenes are based around real historical events featuring people whose tombstones rest silently in Magnolia. Expect battle scenes and poem readings, among other re-enactments. All tours will be led by candlelight. “Once you have attended one and experience the ambience, you’ll want to return the next year to see it all over again,” says coordinator Pat Blitch. The tours leave every 30 minutes beginning at 7 p.m., with each tour lasting about one to one-and-a half hours. Call for tickets.
