CofC's Scott Shanklin-Peterson awarded for arts achievement

The International Council of Fine Arts Deans (ICFAD) will give the 2010 National Award for Arts Achievement and Excellence to Scott Shanklin-Peterson, the director of the School of the Arts’ Arts Management Program. The award targets organizations and people who have contributed toward advocacy, support, visibility, or creativity in the arts world, and it includes a $1,000 grant to be given at the award recipient’s discretion. Shanklin-Peterson selected the S.C. Arts Alliance, where she served as president of the board from 1980-1994. She also served as senior deputy chairman at the National Endowment for the Arts from 1994-2001, and she currently sits on the boards at the Southern Arts Federation, International Arts and Artists (Washington, D.C.) and the International Advisory Committee for the Arts Council of Mongolia.
