Coast Records Winter Jam

When: Fri., Jan. 16, 7:30 p.m. 2015
Price: $10
Charleston singer-songwriter Tyler Boone has been celebrating his birthday for the past couple of years by hosting a musical jam consisting of Chucktown’s finest acts. However, this year he has teamed up with Coast Records and the American Cancer Society for the first annual Winter Jam. “I have recently lost family members to cancer, and for the past three years have seen one of my best friends and guitarist, Dan Rainey, suffer from it,” says Boone. “The funds from this benefit will be going toward cancer research.” Boone has enlisted Coast’s talent-filled roster to rock the Music Farm, but he’s also called in a couple of his other local faves to hit the stage. “I wanted this to be one big night of our musical family in Chucktown,” he says. “Some of these acts have never stood foot on that stage before, and it feels great to give them that opportunity.” Although Boone and his band have played the Music Farm before, this will be their first time headlining the venue. “I didn’t realize how big this was until after the show was announced,” says Boone. “I was in promotion mode for the show, and then I finally realized I am headlining the Music Farm. This is crazy.” St. Lixx of Charleston’s 98 Rock will be the emcee for the night. Emmy Award-winner John Barnhardt will be shooting a new music video for Boone during the show.
