Re: “Charleston Beer Exchange

My only problem with CBX is that it's not located closer to me, which is probably a good thing or I'd spend most of my paycheck there. I love that place and I don't understand the "jerks" comment - every time that I've been in there they have been nothing but friendly, helpful, and, dare I say bonhomous?

Re: “For bottles and cans you just clap your hands

To be fair, Bill's does a horrible job getting the word out to us beer geeks - no website, Facebook page, Twitter feed, nada. Most people that I talk to think it's just another liquor/wine shop and have no clue that they have a decent beer selection, not to mention growler fills. If I knew what they had just received, or what was new on the growler station (similar to how CBX announces stuff), you can bet that I'd make it a point to stop by more often. The few times that I have stopped by though, I've been impressed - decent amount of local beers, and some harder to find beers (Dogfish Head Bitches Brew/Hellhound/Faithful/Pumpkin, Southern Tier Pumking, etc.), and always some Westbrook or Holy City on tap.

Re: “The late Jerry Fuchs made an impression

So very sad to see someone like Jerry, with immense talent and a kind personality, leave the world.

I was able to shoot Maserati on their European tour with Ostinato and had drinks with them all after the show. Ostinato drummer Matt Clark played in place of Jerry since he was in London with !!! and I remember him going on about how amazing Jerry was (thoughts captured here…).

I like this comment by Juan Maclean:

"During a particularly difficult time, while backstage in a club in Chicago, Jerry told me "Juan, I will follow you to the end of the earth and I will always be there for you." That was Jerry, the greatest drummer in the world, the greatest friend you could ever have."

This video really captures some of his talent:

Here's a little mix I created with some of the music he helped to create:…

Thanks for this writeup, I really enjoyed reading it.
