Chilly weather calls for chili

Support our furry, four-legged friends at the Charleston Animal Society, and attend the 18th Annual Chili Cook-off and Oyster Roast at Riverfront Park this Saturday. A highlight of Charleston’s fall season, the Charleston Animal Society hosts their biggest fundraiser of the year. All proceeds from event go towards the organization’s mission to rescue and assist abused, ill, or abandoned animals. The success of last year saw over 9,000 attendees which enabled over 9,000 animals to be sheltered and another 5,000 to find homes. There are over 100 teams competing for chili bragging rights (vegan and vegetarian options too!), an endless supply of steaming oysters, and animals eager to be adopted. Festivities include a mechanical shark, bounce house, bubble soccer, and more. And the adults can enjoy beer, wine, or Tito’s and Firefly vodka.
