Re: “Leaf Café's potential to become a long-lived favorite is plain to see

My wife and I brought our 3-year-old and 9-month-old here for lunch a few weeks back. We really liked the look of the place, and the service was excellent and food good. Our only complaint was the fact that our server suggested a child's portion of pasta for our 3-year-old (there is no children's menu), which we ordered, and it was fine but nothing special--plain spaghetti with butter. Then the bill came, and we were more than a little shocked to find that our son's child's portion of spaghetti cost $7. Look, the restaurant can charge what they like, but it did seem a bit exorbitant--that couldn't have cost them more than a dollar. I guess they have to pay for those renovations! Just be aware that if you have kids and they suggest a child's entree, they are going to charge you adult-sized prices. I will still go back, but probably will just have the little guy share with us next time.
