Re: “Tim Scott's colorblindness is a mask for his cowardice

Leemajors, I would have no issue if Tim Scott would have condemned those actions. But to say that every black leader must publicly condemn any instance of perceived racial injustice that Mr. Haire chooses, it's absurd. Some of the things Mr. Haire mentioned may involve real issues, but many of them are just calling for a reaction to TMZ level fodder. If Mr. Haire does not think Tim Scott is properly representing the black community, then analyze and ask about his involvement on real initiatives, like the schools or voter ID laws. That would educate readers and challenge our politicians at the same time, if they happen to read this stuff. But the quick hit twitter topics, "speak out against CofC president for supporting slavery-lover Maurice Bessinger", what does that accomplish for the people of SC?? Like I said before, it's low hanging fruit, it's just water cooler talk. If you want to hang a bold headline, base it on something that would require a few more than 140 characters.

Re: “Tim Scott's colorblindness is a mask for his cowardice

So because Tim Scott didn't publicly condemn all of the topics Chris Haire takes issue with, then he is a coward? How is any of your writing about Tim Scott actually progressing whatever movement you represent? If you think he does not represent the interest of the black community, reach out, challenge him to get involved in actual initiatives that benefit the black community. That is what you should be writing about if you actually cared about progress, instead of creating headlines that garner more clicks. You bring up the point that he hadn't accomplished much in Congress, but all of your demands are for him to react to any topic that could be racially dividing? What action is being taken there? It just sounds like you want him to be a twitter troll for Black America. Any time racial injustice goes viral Tim Scott better speak out or he doesn't represent the best interest of his own race. Come on man, that is low hanging fruit. Please put some more thought into your criticisms and make them constructive, like your first bullet point. Don't just take the first softball lobbed your way and explode with an irresponsible headline, there are young people reading this stuff and they deserve more than just knee jerk reactions.
