Re: “Grumpy fashionistas suffer from champagne separation anxiety

Gervase, i can certainly see both sides of the coin here. you probably DID in fact receive some poor reviews, due to the lack of sufficient champagne supply. this is attributed to two things. #1. a miscommunication/mishandling among the event's planners (no excuses for that). #2. charleston's socialite's entitled expectation, to have endless amounts of free flowing champagne @ a $10 ticket event (i mean, come on). however, your article is full of other misinformation. everything from the true number of champagne bottles to how the event was publicized and the happenings within Memminger Auditorium. certainly it's important to not only review, but double check your facts before submitting an article that could well impact future endeavors to support our local non-profits. maybe a simple phone call or email to Ms. Mills or PAR's executive director to substantiate your reports would have bypassed such an '"opps". at the end of the day, the mission was accomplished, regardless of the amount of free alcohol. A thanks should be given to Sales Soiree organizers and executers, who did a fantastic job at selflessly raising money for a more than worthy cause.
